By definition, Family Child care (FCC) is the care of children in a private residence. FCC homes are licensed by the state of Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care and offer small adult/child ratios.
Most FCC programs are licensed for up to 6 children, with a limited number of infants
Some FCC programs can care for up to eight children, two who must be attending full time school. These children may receive before and after school and during school closings and vacations.
Other FCC programs can be licensed for up to 10 children with the help of an EEC Approved Assistant
Family Child Care Educators
Each FCC Educator has gone through training in the areas of early childhood development and program management, bringing her own experience and teaching style to her program. Educators collaborate with staff to use a monthly based educational curriculum while applying developmentally appropriate practices. Many also have national accreditation.
Staff also work with educators and families to access community resources for you and your child.
Our staff will refer you to FCC programs based on your unique needs. We assist families in accessing financial assistance to offset the cost of care.
